In summer 2016, Next Epoch Seed Library installed a mailbox-style public mini-library on the side of a road in New Jerusalem, PA. The seeds offered were all collected from pioneer species that were working to revitalize a nearby fallow cornfield. This project was made during a residency called “Exquisite Corpus: The Maize” organized by Holes In the Wall Collective.

The species, along with NESL’s seed quality icons:

Cardamine hirsuta // hairy bittercress

Rumex crispus // curly dock

Apocynum cannabinum // dogbane

Ranunculus abortivus // littleleaf buttercup

Solidago // goldenrod

Taraxacum officinale // dandelion

Mentha arvensis // wild mint
